Construction Begins for Leavitt Reservoir Expansion

Construction of the Leavitt Reservoir Expansion project near Shell, Wyoming, is underway.  Once completed, the project will include a new 80-foot-high, one-mile-long, zoned earthen embankment with a 90-foot-tall multilevel intake tower, water conveyance infrastructure, constructed wetlands, and recreation facilities.  Early construction activities have included aggregate production, construction of cofferdam and stream diversion facilities, and foundation preparation.  Construction of the dam and outlet works will begin in spring 2024.  RJH led the design effort and is providing resident engineer services for the duration of construction, which is anticipated to be approximately 2 years.
