2020 APWA Colorado Chapter Awards

The FEMA Flood Repairs and Mitigation Project has been awarded an American Public Works Association Project Award for Disaster or Emergency Construction and Repair – Large Community category. RJH was retained by the City of Thornton to provide engineering services for design construction of a series of reservoirs along the South Platte River in Adams County, Colorado that were damaged during flood events in both 2013 and 2015. This project illustrates the collaboration that can be achieved between federal agencies, state agencies and local government for a complex project with the common goal to protect valuable infrastructure and provide dependable sources of water for the residents of the City of Thornton.
