DAM HAZARD CLASSIFICATIONS

A dam hazard classification is required by state and federal dam safety agencies to evaluate the potential consequences of a dam failure to the residents and property downstream of a dam, and to establish proper regulatory standards and criteria for the investigation, design, and construction of a new or rehabilitated dam.
