Geotechnical Engineer

RJH Consultants, Inc. (RJH) is looking for a technically exceptional and driven professional to work on challenging and diverse geological, geotechnical, and water resource projects within a strong team environment. RJH is a geotechnical water resources firm specializing in evaluation, civil design, and construction management for raw water supply systems, dams, reservoirs and appurtenant facilities, and water conveyance infrastructure. RJH projects range from small geotechnical explorations to large embankment dam design and construction. RJH manages projects with overall costs ranging from several thousand dollars to in excess of $200 million.

  Requirements:

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil or Geological Engineering. A Geotechnical emphasis is required.
• Five to ten years experience.
• Colorado Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain Colorado P.E. within 6 months of hire.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
• Proficiency in slope stability, seepage, deformation, and other geotechnical modeling and analyses.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead junior staff engineers in preparation of geotechnical analyses and reports.
• Ability to lead geotechnical field investigations and prepare data reports.
• Experience in dams or other heavy civil design and /or construction projects desired. 

Job Description:

Work will include development and supervision of geotechnical field investigations, geotechnical calculations, civil design for embankment dams and water resource projects, and report preparation.  Geotechnical analyses will include static and dynamic stability analyses, steady state and transient seepage analyses, deformation analysis, and evaluation of field and laboratory test data. Other duties include preparation of design drawings and specifications for heavy civil projects and supervision of quantity estimating and construction monitoring.  Willingness to travel on temporary assignments as needed.
